Soil Moisture Sensor
A soil moisture sensor can read the amount of moisture present in the soil surrounding it. It is ideal for monitoring garden, or your plant’s water level. This is a must have tool for a connected garden.
This sensor uses the two probes to pass current through the soil, and then it reads that resistance to get the moisture level. More water makes the soil conduct electricity more easily (less resistance), while dry soil conducts electricity poorly (more resistance).
It will be helpful to remind you to water your indoor plants or to monitor the soil moisture in your garden. The IO Expansion Shield is the perfect shield to connect this senor to Arduino.
The new soil moisture sensor uses Immersion Gold which protects the nickel from oxidation.

TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) measures how many milligrams of soluble solids dissolved in one liter of water. The measure is expressed in PPM (part per million). In general, the higher the TDS value, the more soluble solids dissolved in water, and the less clean the water is. Therefore, the TDS value can be used as one of the references for reflecting the cleanliness of water.

The TDS probe is waterproof; it can be immersed in water for long time measurement. However, the signal transmitter board is not waterproof.
MQ-4 Sensor is highly sensitive to Methane – CH4.
Using a MQ sensor and detecting the gas is quite easy. You can either use the digital pin or the analog pin to accomplish this. Simply power the module with 5V and you should notice the power LED on the module to glow and when no gas is detected the output LED will remain turned off meaning the digital output pin will be 0V.
